How to hide Finance from Departments menu in Nav 2009 R2

Hi All,

We have assign user property for Menu Suite in Nav 2009 r2 classic. can we achieve this in Nav 2009 r2 RTC ?.
I want to remove the finance only from the Department. I tried but whole department is getting removed. I tried adding new menu, but the proper structure (grouping) i am not able to replicate in this. Please give your valuable suggestion and guidance.

Item Cost on Item Card it's not chaning

I was seraching on this forum and on others about the item cost, but there is no answare or i couldn't found it 

I have some items who have strange cost on item card, it's imposible to find how comes.

When the sales are done and i run the ACIE job, this job improve the posted cost and it's ok, but i need some how to be the right cost also on ne Item Card.

costing methode=FIFO

About to buy a new server and move the current setup on to this server, question is how far do I go with

Current set up is

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 standard Edition

SQL server 2005

Dynamics NAV 5.0

Going to move to either

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 standard Edition

SQL server 2008

Dynamics NAV 5.0

or

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 standard Edition

SQL server 2012

Dynamics NAV 5.0 (Not upgrading this yet or should I )

Will Navision run on windows server 2012 and SQl 2012 or am I better of sticking with one I know will work Server 2008 & SQL 2008

Effects of changing Profit/Price Calculation

An Item using FIFO was created (in late 2012) with Profit/Price Calc : Profit = Price-Cost, during which time a Sale Item Ledger Entry was posted with 0 Cost and Price, hence no G/L entries

Later (in 2013) after corrected the calc to be Price = Profit + Cost, another Sale Type Item Ledger Entry was posted, but this time with correct item Cost and Price.

I thought the Profit/price Calc helps determine the Profit % or Unit Price, in either case, both Unit Cost and Price of the Item always be the same. 

What is causing the 0 amount posting to the Item Ledger?  Most important of all, what would be the best way to fix the interim difference?

SQL command to copy table data without listing of field names

I understand the SELECT * INTO DB1.TBL1 FROM DB2.TBL1  would copy data and table structure, however, it doesn't copy the Table Tiggers and all the indexes to DB1.TBL1 FROM DB2.TBL1 and  I have to script (to copy) each trigger and index to DB1.TBL1 FROM DB2.TBL1 in order the Navision TBL1 would run without SQL error.

If I use INSERT INTO, the data would copy alright and the TBL1 structure remain intact (with its trigger and indexes), however, the command would require listing of ALL fields instead of accepting an '*'.

Is there a command or an easier approach in which data would be copy INTO DB1.TBL1 FROM DB2.TBL1 without the need to list field names?

NAV2013 ..Web client installation

Hi,

Greet for the day.

While installing WEB client for NAV 2013 on client machine, I am getting following error.:

"This version of Windows must be 64 bit edition". My machine is 32 bit.

From system requirement of NAV 2013 i came to know that, client can be installed on 32 bit machine, but server need to be 64 bit machine.

I completed all respective process to install NAV 2013 web client on server which is 64 bit.

Could you please help me for same.???

This message is for C/AL programmers:

Could not create an instance of the OLE control or Automation server identified by
GUID={1CE9DC08-9FBC-45C6-8A7C-4FE1E208A613} 7.1:{40108C54-9352-46C9-822C-027727352F00}:Unknown Automation Server.Unknown Class.
Check that the OLE control or Automation server is correctly installed and registered.

Seeing a huge performance hit right now and noticed something strange.

We're running MS Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 on a SQL Server and we saw a huge performance hit on Monday morning and since then we started investigating what exactly was going on.

We noticed that in database sessions(File --> Database --> Information --> Drill down)

We're seeing all of our licenses being used and logins from both Nav Classic and Nav Classic Client from multiple machines. The majority of users are reported as using Classic Client, but some are reporting as Classic, and some are flip flopping back and forth between classic and classic client over time.   We also noticed that our term servers are doing the same thing and sometime are reporting a mix between Classic and Classic Client.   Have you seen this behavior before? Any suggestions on what else to look at/for?   Any tips, tricks, etc would be greatly appreciated.  

Is there a difference between Nav Classic and Nav Classic Client?   Is this seemingly random mix of them normal and maybe just something we hadn't noticed before?  

Not sure if it would make a difference since we're seeing both classic and classic client coming from the same hostnames, but for the sake of full disclosure the first few installs were done manually, but the rest have been done by using PDQ Deploy to push the install and the

 /quiet /config NavConfigForNewDesktop.xml

OLE Control of Automation Server error

Hi

I have an OLE Control or Automation Server error when trying to accept a payment in Navision. The flat file that my user is trying to accept is located on anetwork share. The user has access and has the drive mounted. The following error occurs when the users tries to accept and send the payment.

NAV Outlook Handling

Hello,

I have a requirement that I have to automate the functionality on NAV which will see the incoming email in the Outlook and it will then keep record of that in specified table.

Beside that I have to save the attachments in specified Directory...

Can anyone suggest me is there any way to begin this task....

i have done Report in NAV 2013 ,my report having 2 pages one my client wants to when we click print button they want to print front and back   in single page,so it possible through code or only printer selection if any code please help me.

Running a NAV 2009 Classic Report from Task Scheduler

I can create a task in the Windows  Server 2008 Task Scheduler to run a report in NAV 2009 (Classic Client), but, if I am not already logged into a session, the task stops at the login screen.  Is there a way to include the login information in the command string?

How to check same item repetition in report

Hi All,

I have created report for customer enquiry from Enquiry & Enquiry Line tables and i am showing stock from item card in this report,

if one item entered more than 2 times than stock also repeating same no of times as per below details:-

but i want to display stock for one time only in first line and after this all should be zero as per below image:-

Pls tell me how i can check & set to zero same item's stk repeating more than one time.

The last modified date field in the item header is making a little confusion  to the users in such a way that for any modification you made in the item header  the last modification date is changed and this make a change in the item status every time you made a change and you need to write a comment for ever simple changes made for reporting.

How to customize the last modified date field on a specific fields only . I am new to C/AL programming so i need your help

NAV09 R2 Client slow start

Hi,

Nav2009 R2 + LS Retail 6.4, client takes too much time to load. If network is disabled it loads normally and fast. No polices running on domain.

Anyone can advice?
